August 15: Pete York, drummer and founding member of the Spencer Davis Group is 68.

 Born in Redcar, Yorkshire, England, the Spencer Davis Group consisted of Spencer Davis and the brothers, Steve and Muff Winwood. York left the group in 1969 to form Hardin and York with Eddie Hardin.
